In high school, javelin was one of the many sports I participated in. After winning gold at my high school provincials in 2009, I was scouted by Tom Nielsen, the coach for the top four javelin throwers in Canada at the time. He helped me realize my full potential, and worked with me to take me to the next level. Our goal was to be the top Junior Javelin thrower in Canada. In 2010, that goal was accomplished! After my winning performance at nationals, I was selected to represent Canada at the 2010 World Jr. Championships. In the qualifying round, I threw a personal best and qualified for finals, ranking 11th in the world! Going into my 2011 season, I was now a nationally funded athlete for Canada. I took part in the Olympic Development Camp in Phoenix, AZ. I am expected to be one of the competitive athletes in the 2016 Olympics, RIO BABY!
