Peninsula Runners offers many different clinics for walkers, joggers, runners and anyone who want to increase their fitness level.

White Rock Clinic

Each night, we begin with a discussion relating to what is planned for that night. Frequently, we invite special guests to talk about their experiences and knowledge on subjects such as nutrition, injury prevention, running technique, shoes and technical clothing. Then, we slowly warm up by either jogging or walking to our workout location. The workouts, usually lasting between 30 minutes to an hour, are planned carefully and strategically to safely increase each participant's level of fitness. The workout is concluded with a cool-down jog back to the store and a well-deserved stretch.

Participants can drop-in also so contact your local store to find out when the group meets next.

Different Groups and Fitness Levels:

  1. Walking Group – follows the same workout schedule as the runners but instead of running, they walk!
  2. Walk/Jog Group – participants are gradually introduced into running.
  3. Running Groups – incorporates technical aspects of running.
  4. Half-marathon Groups – participants must be able to comfortably run a 10km distance before joining
  5. Marathon Groups – participants must be able to comfortably run 9 miles before joining

**In order to prevent injuries and make the clinic more enjoyable, talk to one of the staff members and they will help you determine which group is best suited for your needs.

Length of Clinics

Walk/Jog/Run clinics: One evening per week for 8-14 weeks

Half marathon/marathon clinics: Three evenings per week for 16 weeks
