Your comments about the 2007 race

Hi Dave & Staff,

Well you should be so very "PROUD" of yourselves for such an awesome Event; what a tremendous amount of work on so many people's part.......I APPLAUD YOU ALL.....AND SIMPLY SAY "THANK YOU" FOR SUCH A GREAT EXPERIENCE!!!! It was perfect! I have never had such a comprehensive "race package bag".... WOW; having done many events in my day.... I know the amount of work it all takes! BRAVO!!

THe tech shirt is my favourite shirt of all time... in all ways.

There were fabulous volunteers at every corner... unreal... and all so supportive and enthusiastic... was absolutely terrific!!!! :-) !!!!!!!!!

The post race food was the best I have ever seen; WOW!!!

The free massage tent was a very nice perk for sure!!!!!!!

Yes Dave, I ran at the end... cause I was just feeling sooooooooo great; actually ran quite a bit [relatively speaking]... for me; was just a "perfect experience"!!!! Had set myself a goal of 2hrs38min so was happy to beat that by a couple of minutes; at least by my watch!!!!

I witnessed some unbelievable runners today... so awe inspiring; WAY TO GO MIKE... you looked so strong!!!!!! Fabulous!!

The kids 1km run was a highlight for sure; definitely a tear filled moment with some of those kids... and parents!!!!

VERY "KOOL"!!

Congratulations to Steve M. for all his work and running a super race. The race seemed well organized — great road control — barely saw a car the whole race.

Terrific shirts — love the black with the turquoise "Kool" — nice medals too !!

Awesome food. Perfect water stops. GREAT VOLUNTEERS all along the route.

Loved watching the kids race — that made my day seeing their little faces as they raced along.

All and all a great day.

Thanks to you all for such a great effort — I think it was very successful and fun.

Hi Dave

Thanks for the race today. This was my first Oak Bay 1/2 marathon, and I found it to be very well organized. The volunteers along the course were very enthusiastic and helpful — cheering on the runners as they gave out water or managed traffic. The finishing medal and the variety of food provided at the end were first rate and way beyond what runners usually receive at the end of such races — this was much appreciated.

I just wanted to thank you guys for a fabulous run this morning. This was my first time running the Oak Bay Kool 1/2 and I LOVED it!!!! It's such a pretty route, and I really like the "gently rolling" course. I especially liked running through the tape at the finish line. I've never done that before!!!

Dave, you guys did yourselves proud on the weekend. The race went smoothly, the volunteers were fantastic, and the neighbourhood feel about the whole thing was just perfect. Don't let anyone bully you into getting chips: once I realized how compact the field was, there was clearly no need.

Although you were clearly uncooperative about bulldozing the Newport hill, I have another request that I'm sure you'll be able to handle: could you please find something else for all the fastee 40-49 Old Broads to do over the long weekend next year? :-)

Both Tracey (2:10) and I (2:21) would like to extend our sincere thank you to all the staff of Peninsula Runners for making our long-sought after dream of running a half marathon together come true last weekend. We can only imagine the effort required to pull off an event of this size, and from what we saw — it was done with ease, with passion, and with lots of commitment. You should be proud of what you have all accomplished.

On a personal note, we never would have been able to achieve our goal were it not for the constant encouragement, advice, and support that we received from everyone at the store — but a special shout out is due to Michael who got us through. You are the best !!!!

Once again... thank you to everyone. Dave, Julia, Michael, Eric, Steve, Randy, Michelle and everyone else who got us to the finish line.
