When does the next one start??The first session starts on Saturday, January 14, 2012. Your registration will also include a Wednesday night workout at 6:30pm with past national champion Phil Ellis (he has a 28:40 10K and 63 minute half marathon best). We strongly recommend you attend this session as this can make the difference in achieving your goals. This type of running gives you strength and speed to help you run more efficiently and ultimately faster. Clinic registration form (PDF) Get Adobe Reader How far should I be able to run before joining the half or full marathon program??You should be able to comfortably run about 40 minutes in duration in order to train for the half marathon and 60 minutes for the marathon. Why join a full or half marathon-training program??Our program design is specifically developed to assist individuals in making the transition from shorter distance runs through to the full marathon distance. At Peninsula Runners we work hard to provide a safe, informative, fun, motivating, and rewarding clinic atmosphere. Everyone is welcome no matter what your pace. How long is the program??The half and full marathon training program is 16 weeks and will prepare you to participate in a spring half or full marathon (the Vancouver Half and Full Marathon is May 6, 2012).
How much will it cost and where do we run from and what does it include??The cost of the program is $100. The cost will include: a Saturday morning long run, a Wednesday night workout, and 10% discount on store purchases. We will also provide you with a training manual that will help guide you through the program. Guest speakers and coaches will also help to inform, inspire and improve your running and make you healthier in the process. Most of the workouts will start and finish at our Langley store. Each week we try to run our long runs on different scenic courses. Come find out why everyone in our clinic is having so much fun and success. Our goal is to help prepare you to enjoy your running experience and want to continue running for a lifetime. Meet our leader KathieKathie has been the leader of our clinic since we opened the store in 2001 (this will be her 21st clinic). Everyone who has run with her in one of those 20 marathon clinics finds her very motivational and inspirational. She leads by example. She is a single mother of four who works full time yet still finds time to have completed over 25 marathons and train for the Ironman triathlon. Five years ago she ran a best time of 3:16 and her goal is to continue running for years to come. Kathie most definitely is passionate about helping others achieve their goals and hopes that others will gain the benefits she has from leading an active running lifestyle. |

The Running 201 group is focused on doing workouts that will improve your running strength and speed for any distance from a 5k to marathon. Next one starts January 11, 2012. PR Running ClubFor a cost of $150.00, members can participate in any or all of our clinics that we offer in 2012. This fee covers the calendar year. Peninsula Runners Fraser Valley Trail Run SeriesJoin us for our trail series beginning with our Resolution Run on January 1st in Crescent Park. There are 3 other events in the series held at Campbell Valley Park, Aldergrove Lake Park, and Derby Reach Park. These low key events are great additions to the training and help strengthen your legs and reduce the shock of road running. |
