Adam O'Meara
- Event: Triathlon
- Favourite Shoe: Newton Gravity
- Best Memory of my Sport: Competing in the Ironman World Championships, October 2008. Racing in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii at this race was
simply a dream come true. It is the holiest grounds within the sport of triathlon and the second I stepped of the plane I could feel it in the air.
From being in the water at the start, to battling the headwinds on the bike, to running through the Natural Energy Lab, the entire race was everything
it is touted to be and more. Topping it all of was a PB time of 9:28:26. Can't wait till round two — which will now be as a Pro.
- Athletics Role Model: Chris McCormack — he backs up everything he says. Peter Reid — he is the definition of discipline.
Lisa Bentley — she is down to earth but tough as nails on the racecourse. Gotta love Craig Alexander — just dials everything in perfectly.
- Athletic Dreams: To win Ironman Races around the globe and be in the mix with the big boys in Kona.
- Favourite Workout Clothing: Whatever my sponsors give me or what I can afford.

Jeff Hunt
- Event: Marathon / Ultra-marathon
- Favourite Shoe: Brooks Cascadia. These shoes stick to the trail
like no other.
- Best Memory of my Sport: Finishing the 77km West Coast Trail in just
over 14 hours of running. Physically, it was probably the most difficult thing I've ever done.
- Favourite Place to go for runs: Mt. Doug, Gowlland Tod, Goldstream.
- Athletics Role Model: Gary Duncan. He is a local running legend, and he
is wickedly fast for his age. He can run and do extremely well in any type of race. I aspire
to be as involved as he is in the running community, and maintain such a high performance
standard at the same time.
- Athletic Dreams: To continue to do trail runs that nobody has run before,
and to cover distances that are unfathomable to the average person. It is also my hope to
inspire others with my adventures.
- Favourite Workout Clothing: Sugoi clothing and Smartwool socks.

Allan Boos
- Event: Triathlon (Long course)
- Favourite Shoe: Saucony Grid Fast Twitch Endurance for racing
- Best Memory of my Sport: My first Triathlon! The voice of Steve King announcing the
countdown to race start and the sound of the air horn signalling the mass swim start into
Thetis Lake. I just thought it was the coolest sport ever invented. All those athletes diving
into the water with their skin-tight wetsuits, ripping them off in transition, and taking off
on their formula 1 style time trial bikes... What an adrenalin rush! Now I look for races that
are announced by Steve King, just to bring back the naïve feeling of losing my triathlon
virginity. I always look back at that race and think about how far I've come (I didn't do very
well).
- Athletics Role Model: Peter Reid. I love the way he peaks for his A-races.
- Athletic Dreams:
- Being able to continue all my training with my favourite training partner: my wife.
- To run the WHOLE run in an Ironman.
- Breaking 9:00hrs in Ironman Canada (this would require running the WHOLE run).
- Oh, and winning Le Tour de France.
- Favourite Workout Clothing: Quality that fits! When it comes to workout clothes,
I really believe that you get what you pay for. I train too many hours to be uncomfortable.
Every time I buy something that is cheap, and I don't just mean cost, I regret it. I like
Saucony stuff.

Tammy Boos
- Event: Triathlon (Long course)
- Favourite Shoe: Saucony Grid Fastwitch Endurance. This racing shoe is super light, has some
pronation support, and has great cushioning!
- Best Memory of my Sport: The bike ride in my first Ironman (Ironman Canada). The
scenery was stunning and the people were awesome! I was so pumped on the bike that I had to
calm myself down at times. I still remember the lady with her coffee cup cheering "good
morning!" to the competitors, being 'flashed' on Richter's pass by a crazy guy, and most
of all, being reminded of why British Columbia is so beautiful!
- Athletics Role Model:
- Natasha Badman. Yes, she wins the Hawaii Ironman every year. Yes, she usually does so with
a smile. But what really impresses me is that she is dedicated to all aspects of the sport:
physically, nutritionally, and mentally. Plus, anyone who can be on the side of the road
puking one minute then sprinting for 2nd place the next blows my mind.
- Haile Gebrselassie. He went 'against the grain' and followed his heart. Although he was a
poor 'farm-boy' in Ethiopia and his father was against his running career, he followed his
dream and ran his way to the gold for the 10,000m in 1996 and 2000 Olympics. The movie
Endurance (his biography) is definitely worth seeing.
- Athletic Dreams: To keep a healthy lifestyle and continue training with my husband,
Allan. I would also like to be Ironman Canada Champion.
- Favourite Workout Clothing: Saucony.
