Let us try to help you accomplish your running goals. When does the next one start??The first session starts on January 9th, 2008 at 6:30pm. Last minute registration is from 5:45pm to 6:20pm. Clinic registration form (PDF) Get Acrobat Reader Your registration includes Wednesday night workouts at 6:30pm, which are a great addition for developing your running skills. We also accommodate a Sunday morning long run at 9:00am. At this clinic we will be moving the Sunday run locations around. Locations will be posted on this website. What is a Wednesday Night workout for?The biggest mistake runners make is that they don't develop the proper running systems. At Peninsula Runners we take you back to the basics and teach you how to run properly and more effectively—which makes you a better runner. We will begin this clinic at the level of the participants so we need to add some walking before full on running. We will assess the abilities of the clinic members and adjust accordingly. How far should I be able to run before joining the program??You should be able to comfortably walk for an hour. The most successful people in this clinic have been those who have tried some running beforehand. For example, if you are able to practice doing a little jogging before the clinic it won't be such shock to your knees. Try just jogging for 30 seconds at time and see how it feels. If you go for an hour walk try jogging 3 times during the walk for 30 seconds each.
Why join a training program??There are many reasons for starting an exercise program. Some join to relieve stress or lose weight, and others just want to enjoy the outdoors. At Peninsula Runners we work hard to provide a safe, informative, fun, motivating and rewarding clinic atmosphere. There is nothing more rewarding than developing a runner from start to finish. How long is the program??The program will start on January 9th and run until the competition of the TC 10km or Oak Bay KOOL Half Marathon. If you have a different goal race in mind, let us know and we can tailor your training to get you to the start line. We suggest the Bazan Bay 5km along the way! Also the Oak Bay KOOL Half Marathon has an excellent relay for beginners. You can get a team of 4 and each run 1 leg of the relay. Let us know what you are looking for and maybe we can better direct you. How much will it cost and where do we run from??The cost of the program is $99.99 + tax. For your membership you will receive…
