What is a Wednesday Night workout for??

The biggest mistake runners make is that they don't develop the proper running systems. At Peninsula Runners we take you back to the basics and teach you how to run properly and more effective—which makes you a better runner.

How far should I be able to run before joining the half-marathon or marathon program?

You should be able to comfortably run 30 min. to 1 hour before the start of the Half Marathon 'or more' clinic. If you're just starting running and find running consistently for ½ hour difficult, then let us suggest joining the 8km program. For those looking for a Fall Race we ensure our participants are ready for their distance of choice in the Royal Victoria Marathon Event.

Why join a training program??

There are many reasons for starting an exercise program. Some join to relieve stress or lose weight, and others just want to enjoy the outdoors. Our program can develop runners who have found running to be boring and stale. At Peninsula Runners we work hard to provide a safe, informative, fun, motivating and rewarding clinic atmosphere. There is nothing more rewarding than developing a runner from start to finish.

How long is the program??

The program will start on June 25th and run until the completion of the Royal Victoria Marathon, Half Marathon and 8K. If you have a different goal race in mind, such as the Esquimalt 8K on July 27th, let us know and we can tailor your training to get you to the start ready to race.

How much will it cost??

The cost of the program is $99.99. For your membership you will receive...

  • Wednesday Night Workout
  • Online Training Log! Including: Community Forum, Workout Calendars, and Personal Progress Log with Graphs
  • Sunday Group Long runs
  • Guest Speakers, which will be from 6pm to 6:25 on designated Wednesdays. A list of the speakers will be on the website.
  • 10% off Store purchases

Guest Speakers at 6pm

We have changed how we will approach Guest Speakers. We will have speakers come into the store and begin talks at 6pm. This will allow people who want to hear specific talks attend the ones that interest them. The speaker plan will be on the website.
